Senior Mechanical Engineer, Actuation

📍 Detroit, MI 🏭 Onsite, floor-based 💰 $145k–$185k ⏱ 6+ yrs

You'd design the actuators and drivetrains that go into every arm we ship — the part of the robot that fails first if the math is wrong, and the part everyone on the floor holds you accountable for.

What you'd own

  • Actuator design across our full arm product line, from concept to qualification testing
  • Direct collaboration with Manufacturing on design-for-assembly
  • Root-cause investigation on any actuation failure in the field

What we expect

  • 6+ years designing mechanical systems for industrial or robotic hardware
  • Fluent in SolidWorks or equivalent, plus real FEA experience
  • Comfortable walking the floor and standing behind a design at full speed
